Seniors begin their own celebration of The Harlem Renaaissance in their arts workshops with Sheena Garcia.

Some of my Senior students are learning visual composition while taking fun, fashion photos in the style of photographer, James Van Der Zee!  We are beginning to celebrate the Harlem Renaissance Centennial celebration which began this Fall and will continue through Spring, 2020.  To commemorate this special event, Seniors will explore the history and styles of various Harlem Renaissance, visual artists.  The photo abovewas taken during one of our recent classes in Southwest Philly.  Stay tuned for more James Van Der Zee-inspired photographs created by Philadelphia Seniors!
